Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank has opened its second branch on Nantucket. The downtown branch is on Main St., and is the bank#39;s 16th branch overall. In addition to the new branch, and its existing branch on West Creek Road, the bank also operates a loan production office on the island.

A 130-foot barge carrying gravel and stone was sinking in Nantucket Harbor Friday, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

A 150-foot barge with gravel on board is taking on water this morning in Nantucket Harbor, the US Coast Guard said. Coast Guard Petty Officer Connie Terrell said there is no pollution, and marine inspectors are on scene.
