Police investigate unattended death at mid-island home

(Feb. 29, 2012) Nantucket and State Police detectives are investigating an unattended death Wednesday morning at a residence on Friendship Lane. Nantucket police Lt. Jerry Adams said a 25-year-old male was found unresponsive by his roommates early Wednesday morning.

High-wind warning in effect; Boat service canceled

(Feb. 25, 2012) The National Weather Service has issued a high-wind warning for much of the Cape and Islands, including Nantucket, through 7 p.m. Saturday, and both the Steamship Authority and Hy-Line Cruises have canceled boat service.

The Martha#39;s Vineyard girls#39; varsity basketball team rolled 63-33 over inter-island rival Nantucket on the road Saturday to clinch a spot in the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) tournament for the first time since 2003.
