(Dec. 27, 2011) A dolphin was spotted in Nantucket Harbor Tuesday morning swimming in circles near the Great Harbor Yacht Club docks. The New England Aquarium has been notified of the dolphin, but it was unclear if its rescue personnel were planning any response.

(Dec. 27, 2011) The National Weather Service has issued a high-wind warning for the Cape and Islands, including Nantucket, from 9 p.m. Tuesday through 3 a.m. Wednesday.

(Dec. 24, 2011) Sherri Souza had the $5,000 winning ticket in the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce's Christmas Eve Red Ticket Drawing on Main Street. Souza received the ticket while shopping at the Nobby Shop.

Nantucket’s 2011 Tour of Lights has been a very successful island tradition with 14 different locations being nominated for inclusion in the event.

(Dec. 22 , 2011 ) In its ongoing effort to restore one of its historic properties each year, the Nantucket Historical Association is set to embark on a new project this winter: renovating the Fire Hose Cart House, located at 8 Gardner St., a structure dating from 1886 and the last remaining 19th-century firehouse on the island.
