Dolphin spotted in Nantucket Harbor

(Dec. 27, 2011) A dolphin was spotted in Nantucket Harbor Tuesday morning swimming in circles near the Great Harbor Yacht Club docks. The New England Aquarium has been notified of the dolphin, but it was unclear if its rescue personnel were planning any response.

High-wind warning in effect from Tuesday night to early Wednesday

(Dec. 27, 2011) The National Weather Service has issued a high-wind warning for the Cape and Islands, including Nantucket, from 9 p.m. Tuesday through 3 a.m. Wednesday.

NHA undertakes cart house restoration

(Dec. 22 , 2011 ) In its ongoing effort to restore one of its historic properties each year, the Nantucket Historical Association is set to embark on a new project this winter: renovating the Fire Hose Cart House, located at 8 Gardner St., a structure dating from 1886 and the last remaining 19th-century firehouse on the island.
