Cape Cod fauna in the old world. Are scrub pine like we see today what we would have seen 300yrs ago?

Sunday, November 30th, 2008
warsea378 asked:

Were there huge old world red wood type trees in Cape Cod, in Massachusettes that had been stripped causeing the scrub pine? Is the scrub pine a result of the old trees being striped, or are they a natural occurance? I heard the Cape had been stripped bare at a time in history.

Traveling to the cape cod area this weekend. Whats up with the hurricane?

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008
Kyle B asked:

We are staying in Provincetown and Plymouth for the weekend. Are we going to be in any danger because of the hurricane that is suppose to blow by the edge of Cape Cod this weekend?
I know that the hurricane is coming and I have watched the weather channel but what I am asking is how safe is the area. I will be staying in Provincetown and Plymouth. I need to know if the area is safe to stay in with a hurricane coming or if I need to get a hotel more inland.
